Best Blu-Rays and DVD's of 2014

Another amazing year for DVD's and Blu-Rays.

Hollywood may be kissing off media you can hold in your hand, but many enterprising disk companies are keeping cinema history alive, and fueling what can only be described as a Golden Age for collectors and the cinematically passionate.

This round-up is by no means definitive, but I hope it directs you to some treasures  you might have missed.

  1. Good picks all, particularly RABID DOGS (which I much prefer to the Anchor Bay KIDNAPPED version), the Criterion ERASERHEAD and MESSIAH OF EVIL. Also, that limited edition POSSESSION looks damned intriguing!

  2. I want that Possession blu-ray so bad. As awesome as the Nekromantik release is, I'm not that big a fan of the movie, so I don't know if I'd get it. How's Sex Hunter: 1980? The only Synapse/Impulse releases of Nikkatsu movies I've seen are Female Teacher Hunting and Zoom In: Sex Apartments.

adam, yes, RABID DOGS is the preferred version... and that POSSESSION box is a must.
