I'm happy to post the first volume of the film review chart, and I want to thank all who responded to the call for raters.
If this chart performs, I'll create a "classic" chart also for those folks out there who are not seeing a lot of current releases.
This chart was inspired by a chart that used to appear in the early issues of the late Frederick S. Clarke's Cinefantastique magazine. Thanks, Fred.
The chart has also been cross-posted to a new blog:

Please bookmark or 'follow' this new blog as it will eventually become the dedicated home of the film chart and its successors.
BIOS OF ALL RATERS ARE PENDING.

Phantom, that "classic chart" would be ideal for me, there are quite a few "cult classics" (mostly science-fiction and horror) from the 50`s, 60`s, and 70`s that i literally never tire of watching. It would be superb to "rate" them using this system.
ReplyDeletePhantom, my bio would always be the same as usual: JBH, murderously homo-phobic Heather O`Rourke obsessed lunatic.
ReplyDeletethanks for the inclusion, cheers!
ReplyDeletePhantom, i know its never really a good idea to over-complicate a film ratings system, but i was just wondering if you thought it might be a good idea to allow one provisional compromise in that area with regards to this (already superb) ratings system. I thought it might be a great addition to have an extra asterisk (in red or green perhaps) that could be bestowed by the reveiwer if they thought the movie might be destined for "cult-status", so to speak, (irrespective of the rating that they gave the film with regards to its actual quality), for instance, a film that gets the "terrible" rating might still (in the mind of the reveiwer) have potential for "cult-status" in the future, where-as a film that gets the "exceptional" rating might indeed be a great film but it might have zero potential for "cult-status" at a later date. As i said, it was just an idea i had as a possible addition to the ratings system that could jazz it up even more, the final decision is of course up to you, it`d still be nice to hear your opinion on the idea though, cheers Phantom.
