When Piracy Was Not About DVD's

There was a time when being a pirate didn't involve being hounded and pursued by the MPAA (Motion Picture Association of America).

This George Grosz watercolor from the 1920's appears in the monster volume The Complete Book of Erotic Art; Volumes 1 & 2 (Bell Publishing, '78) by Drs. Phyllis and Eberhard Kronhausen.

  1. Boy oh boy, Melinda Gebbie's art and design in her and Alan Moore's "The Lost Girls" owes more than a little to paintings like this.

  2. Roger -- oh, yes. Major influence on a generations of artists. Extraordinary similarities in texture.
