Wow! I am moved to put my first comment on this fine blog. Bobcat is not a pile of shit and I am interested in this new movie. also I like all Mel Gibson's stuff.
Goldthwait ain't a pile a shit at all, he's the current heir to John Waters with his own distinctive sense of humour and more cinematic directorial chops (which are getting better with each movie). Hamster, anonymous stranger - fuck ya!
Phantom, just with regards to one of Isabelle Hupperts French co-stars, i want to bugger Sandrine Bonnaire (as the bird was in 1985 when the bird was 18, not as the bird is now obviously).
recumbent c.t. -- very happy to receive your post. I'm extremely keen to see Bobcat's latest. It touches a nerve for many, I'm sure.
I'm a huge Mel Gibson fan, and like him more and more all the time. Thought PASSION OF THE CHRIST was a brave biblical epic/gorefest, and adored APOCALYPTO.
He's about to release GET THE GRINGO (aka HOW I SPENT MY SUMMER VACATION) and some great reviews are coming out. The trailer, which I urge you to search for, has a wonderful dark and funny tone.
Gibson's unrepentant, non-PC approach to life and cinema resonates with me. He's Hollywood's last hard man in the Mcqueen/Mitchum tradition.
He does it his own fuckin way.
My only piece of advice to him: Stay single!

Thorney -- heir to John Waters isn't a bad assessment. The Hamster is this blog's resident troll, altho he strays to other blogs also. Occasionally, he shows some intelligence -- very occasionally.
Awesome little list, Phantom. Can't say I'm excited about Bobcat's new one, as I don't enjoy watching little girls shoot guns 'n shit, but I did enjoy World's Greatest Dad. Anyways, I'm also a big fan of Mel and I wasn't even aware of this new one. Looks manic. Also, Killer Joe sounds great - and it's rated NC-17. That was nice to see.
A bunch I'm keen to see: The Last Stand, Michael (thanks to you), Nameless Gangster, Dark Horse, Snow on tha Bluff, Once I Was a Champion, Profane Exhibit, Livid, Moonlight Kingdom...
Phantom i`ve said before on this site that i think Ricky Gervais is the scum-of-the-earth, the fact that my first name is similar to his surname is just an unfortunate semi-co-incidence, now i`d very much appreciate it if you wouldn`t compare me to that worthless filth anymore, OK.
Bobcat Goldthwait is a pile of shit.
ReplyDeleteKing of Ham -- Why is Goldthwait a pile of shit?

ReplyDeleteI`m gonna` get a couple of Lindt gold chocolate bunnys for easter, $9 for two, they look quite superb.
ReplyDeletePhantom, i see you`ve started a new blog specifically for the film ratings panels, it should be superb.

Diary of a milkman -- Some good ones on your list, too. Thank you.
I think Jervaise is a comic genius, perhaps the greatest of all-time ! ! !.
ReplyDeleteHammy-Heather -- you join a long line of great British comedians. I'm sure your mum would agree.
ReplyDeleteBritish comedians are rubbish simply because they ARE British, my beloved Jervaise is an exeption to the rule.
ReplyDeleteHammy -- then why create a name with a close relation to Ricky Gervais?
